CNC Milling
As a part of CNC Machining Services. CNC milling produces or finishes a custom CNC machined object by rotating and moving a tool (such as a milling cutter) to remove material from the workpiece and properly position the part. CNC milling techniques can be used to shape apart from start to finish, and it is preferable to produce features or define mechanical parts as secondary or finishing operations. Milling tools can be placed horizontally or vertically, but since CNC milling machines have evolved strongly, moving on several axes, up to 5 axes, allows more movement of the cutting items in addition to repositioning the workpiece.
CNC milling can able to producing a variety of angles, slots, and channel shapes, as well as bevels, holes, curved and flat surfaces, etc. CNC milling removes large amounts of material quickly and with high precision while producing good surface finishes. Of all the CNC machining processes available, milling is the most versatile.
The 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines are the most commonly used CNC milling processes and are more affordable. The productivity is higher. 3 or 4 axis CNC milling processes can be used to manufacture products with simpler structures and are not suitable for machining complex geometric parts or components with more complex profiles.
5-axis CNC milling has a high degree of versatility and is used to manufacture complex precision parts. For example, medical parts for artificial prostheses or bones, aerospace parts, titanium parts, oil and gas mechanical parts, military products, etc.
If your project has an urgent schedule, in the meantime require relatively high tolerance, CNC milling can be the most suitable process for you.
CNC Turning
CNC turning is a machining process that uses a single-point cutting tool to remove material from a rotating workpiece. In CNC turning, a CNC machine (usually a lathe or lathe) feeds the cutting tool in a linear motion along the surface of a rotating workpiece. Material is removed along the circumference until the desired diameter is reached, producing CNC turned parts with internal and external cylinders, such as grooves, tapers, and threads. The operational capabilities of the turning process include flattening, facing, grooving, and thread cutting.
CNC turning is the fastest way to remove large amounts of material on rounded stock. It’s also ideal for larger production runs when coupled with an automatic bar feeder that provides an uninterrupted supply of raw material into the machine.
CNC turning is the only industrial process to choose when making production volumes of concentric shapes or threaded features. And, because of the rigid construction of these machines, there is little vibration, which means CNC turning can offer high levels of dimensional accuracy with excellent surface finishes.
If your parts design has symmetrical cylindrical or spherical features, CNC turning is recommended for you.Yifeng metal provides professional CNC machining services.
